When a clinic uses traditional syringing, it flushes the ear blind with warm water and no view of what is happening inside. In contrast, endoscopic microsuction gives us a magnified camera view of your ear canal throughout. Meanwhile, a fine medical suction pen lifts the wax out without introducing any water. As a result, there is no soaking, no pressure against the eardrum and a much lower risk of infection or trauma. A few drops of olive oil for two or three days beforehand usually helps, since softer wax lifts out more easily. However, do not overdo it.
