We have cleared thousands of ears and the majority of the patients we see are the consequence of using earbuds. What often happens in a cavity which is between 2cm-2.5cm long is that wax deposits itself on the drum which takes away its compliance completely. Over the years we have seen perforations and trauma to the tympanic membrane caused by cotton bud use. We strongly recommend all of our patients to stay well away.
